ETIQUETTE 101: How to use personal bathrooms

Last week we talked about using public restrooms, today we are taking a look at OUR

bathrooms. Ladies, I get that it is your personal bathroom, but there are things we need

to pay attention to. No one likes a messy bathroom, not even you. So let us take a look at

some etiquette rules to apply in our bathroom use:

1. ALWAYS CHECK THE BATHROOM ESSENTIALS

Imagine how uncomfortable it is when you find out there is no tissue and you need it badly. When you notice that you are running out of toilet supplies, please stock-up. Do not wait till you need the supplies before you think of replacing them. If you are using the last bar of soap, shop for more.

2. ALWAYS FLUSH

Last week we talked about flushing, there is not much to be said here again. If you are visiting a friend/relative, please ensure that you do not leave the

toilet a mess. It does not speak well of you.

3. CHECK FOR ANY MESS

It is likely that you soil the toilet seat or the floor and that is not normal. It is important to check if there is any mess and clean it up before leaving. You are

the only one using the bathroom, trust me, you do not want to come back to such a mess.

4. TRY TO WIPE BATHTUB EDGES AFTER SHOWER

The easiest way to have a clean bathroom, is to wipe the edges of your bathtub after you shower. you do not have to wait till bathroom cleanup day to get that done. wipe the sink as well to clean toothpaste and hair as well. Daily cleaning will help you prevent dirt from building up.

5. WIPE DOWN YOUR SHAMPOO BOTTLES

After washing your hair, ensure you clean the bottles; leaving residue on it till your next wash does not look good at all.

6. CLEAN UP MAKEUP RESIDUE

It is best to clean up your makeup early. If you leave it for too long, you will find that the stains are harder to remove. As soon as you are done applying your makeup, get a damp cloth and wipe.
